Mouse size chart by hand length: what size mouse fits your hand?

The first thing that decides whether a mouse fits is its length. Measure your hand, then look up your grip.

Hand length chart

Palmate takes a share of your hand length as the ideal mouse length: 66% for a palm grip, 62% for claw and 58% for fingertip. A palm grip, with the whole hand on the mouse, needs the longest mouse; a fingertip grip the shortest.

Width matters too

After length, grip width is the next most important part. Palmate takes 88% of your hand width as the ideal grip width: too wide spreads the hand, too narrow leaves less to push against.

How are small, medium and large mice told apart?

Palmate computes size from length and width: length first, plus 0.4 mm for every millimetre of width above 64 mm, minus as much for every millimetre below. A result below 117 is a small mouse, 117 to 124 medium, and above 124 large.

After the chart

Length is one of six parts we compare. Scan your hand and Palmate adds grip width, height and hump, front width, thumb rest and weight, and ranks every mouse.
